McKae is on the Way!

My BFF lives all the way in Texas. D: We talk on the phone a lot and email each other. That's how we keep in touch. She has a blog here... There isn't really anything on it yet. Only one post. Just hope that she updates it again soon! As you can see through her blog, she is a real goofball. That's one of the reasons I'm best friends with her. I can be fun, random, and crazy and I don't get glared at. I can stretch my imagination as far as I want around her and not be called weird. :)

Just us messing around with Photobooth. It  was an accidental picture, which made it perfect.

I'm so excited!!!!! McKae arrived to the state a week or two ago, and she's coming over to my house TOMORROW!!!! EEEK!!! You don't know how much I've missed her!!!! We will be busy all day! 

   We drew each other animé pictures. I'm excited to see what mine is from her! I'm also excited to give the one I drew to her. Wanna see?

Yep. It's Zuko from Avatar: the Last Airbender. Mckae and I are fighting over him right now. <3 <3 Ohh Zuko... 

   Well, anyway, I didn't trace. I just drew it by eye. If you don't believe me, then look at the original image. No, actually, don't do that. It will make my picture look horrible. The original looks completely different.

   Next, I tape the rough sketch to a window (man do I need a light table) and get a blank sheet of paper and tape it on top of it and trace it. Then I get this.

And no, that black mark on his head wasn't there. I just forgot to take a picture before coloring it.
I need to get better at tracing... And now the final result...

He's. So. Hot.

I'm actually quite pleased with this one. It looks pretty good for not drawing complex manga/animé for... ABOUT A HALF OF A YEAR. I still got the head shape wrong though.... :(

   I even put the cool fire nation thingy in but Zuko's blocking the awesome hole in the middle...

I love this photo. It shows how random we are to each other!

   I was bored so I drew another mini version of Zuko. And then I drew a picture of me and McKae (McKae's on the right). And then I'm like, hey, I could give this to her if I don't finish the picture of Zuko on time (The Prince Zuko picture took me 2 days to complete). So then I added a random picture of Aang and Momo on the top right-hand corner (and Saka). And then uh... I started to add random stuff. But it isn't random stuff. A lot of it are jokes that we had together. The "Animals don't get married" is a very, very timeless joke to us.  (It's a long story, I'll tell you later.) And then she claims that Squall/Leon from Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts has a 12 pack... (ew o_e)

 I CAN'T WAIT FOR MCKAE TO COME TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way...

   I FINISHED THE SECRET OF MONKEY ISLAND TODAY! (The old, pixelly, old one! Not the stupid Special Edition version.)

4th of July.

My 4th of July was OK. I was sick on the 3rd so I couldn't go to the parade. But I was late up on the 4th with glow-sticks and sparklers. I had fun with the neighborhood kids and chopping each other's necks off with our glow-stick-light-sabers. That's it. Nothing too special. :)

Bored Art

When I sit down really bored and draw something weird, I call it "bored art". Here are some examples. I did them a week or two ago.

Why do I have this thing with mice?

I have this weird habit-- I mean hobby-- of drawing entire lines of characters. I could create billions of cartoon series and comics... o_o

Here's my latest one.

Sorry, the title is a little cut off. It says "Dinky Island". It's a reference to a comic I did a long time ago when I was in grade school. I couldn't decide on a comic idea so I asked my friend (luv ya, Allison!! ;)) and she said "Uh... Write a comic about a dinosaur that turns into a monkey! That would be cool!" So, that's what I did. I named the comic "Dinkey". Why? Hmm.. Let's think... 

Dinosaur + Monkey = DINKEY! :D 

Or maybe it's a reference to Monkey Island 2. Hmm...

I wish I could find it. :( It was funny. I wish I could show you guys. If I ever find it, I PROMISE I'll show it to you guys.

   Dinky Island is a world with Dinosaurs, Sea monsters, Cavemen, Beautiful birds, Dangerous native tribes, Emo palm trees, AND MORE!!!!!! I don't think it can really get more exciting (or bizarre) than that! What do you think?

Who will rescue me?

Sigh... the other night I watched The Rescuers on an old VHS tape right before bed. It made me feel so nostalgic! It wanted to cry! I used to watch it all the time as a kid... it's so cute! :)
   Something popped into my head earlier that day. It was a scene from a movie. I had no idea where it was from or what it really was. All I remember was a girl, a view from a window with hanging laundry, a light filled room, a teddy bear, and some ginger snaps... Soon the memory thawed out and -BAM- the nostalgia hit. I was all like "I NEED TO SEE THAT MOVIE RIGHT NOW!!!!!" It turned out to be the touching scene where Penny was talking to Rufus the old cat right before she ran away. (*Sniffle* the ginger-snaps... :,] :,[ )

This movie was one of Disney's best, I think. It's also a very unique movie compared to the other films the company's done. It's also... different. It doesn't really seem like a movie they would do. It's a little... dark? But it's comforting at the same time. You know, it's like, someone always cares about you or... someone will always save you in this cold world or... SOMETHING! It's hard to explain just-- ugh. Just watch the movie and see what I mean. -_-

If you haven't seen it, go see it. You'll love it. :)

Well, it's finally SUMMER! And I can do anything my crazy mind wants me to!
   And I'm deciding to try out Flash! My mom has Flash cs4 pro (that sounds special doesn't it?? :DD) and I'm just messing around with it. I'm going to try out a test animation and if it works... I'll show it to you guys! And I'll continue working with it!
   P.S. I'm going to start to add pics in my posts to make them exciting. ^.^'' I'm sorry for having such a lousy blog. I can also post more often because I have no homework lugging me down.

Ugh. I'm so tired I could DIE!

I went home early today from school because I was so tired I couldn't even focus on writing simple sentences. T_T I've been tired all day. This has never happened before.

   Lizzy used to be one of my mom's great art students. She's really fun to be around. She stayed here for about three days, and left this morning before I woke up. Well, at least I can have my bed back (although I'm the kind of person who doesn't care about giving up my bed. The fold out couch is fine on me).
   Lizzy designs fabric (it's uber cute too) and her mom designs quilt patterns.

A New Summer

Right now I'm eating an almond macaroon while listening to The Beatles. Both windows are open, and I can't wait for school to end. I feel good things are waiting to happen this summer, and I will start out fresh.
   I'm saving up for my own MacBook so I can begin animating with Flash, I have enough friends living nearby, I have a blog, and I'm starting to feel like... me!
